plus Financial Statement Analysis

In order to make informed decisions about financial statements, investors and lenders must be able to analyze data. Regular preparation and analysis of financial statement information guides business managers and executives to quantitatively identify problems that serve as principal causes of enterprise failure - such as high, operating expenses, decreased sales, inferior cash management, excessive fixed assets, and inventory mismanagement. Topics include ratio analysis, liquidity, cash flow, capital structure, quality of earnings, debt encumbrance, free cash flow profitability as well as financial forecasting and corporate valuation.

plus Credit Analysis & Research

Lenders are directly concerned with borrowers repaying their loans on a timely basis. Participants will learn to evaluate and assess prevailing industry practices, as potential borrowers' history, how to quantitatively analyze submitted financial information, as well as which credit facility to employ that maximizes value and neutralizes risk. Examination of income sources, profit centers, cash flow, leverage, liquidity, and capitalization will be required in sufficient detail in order to determine strengths that the lender wants to preserve and weakness that may impact the borrower's repayment capacity.

plus Structuring Loan Agreements

Participants in this course will be thoroughly exposed to fundamental loan agreement provisions while further comprehending lending customization to reflect the individual features of a lender-borrower relationship. Through multifaceted off-site assignments along course activities, participants will enhance their ability to explain the reasons for collateralization and the level of appropriate documentation required to satiate compliance objectives.

plus Case Study Capstone - Credit Analysis: Commercial or International Focus

Participants in this course will work in collaborative teams and select either an international (sovereign) or corporate entity in order to conduct a comprehensive credit analysis in the form of a formal written report as well as a concluding oral presentation. This end-product can then be used strategically as reference material or as a methodologically-redefined professional works sample during a future interview process.
